About Flickerbox
Flickerbox is a cinematic animation studio that lives in your browser. Upload a character you drew, describe what happens, and Flickerbox turns it into a short animated cartoon — with smooth, on-model movement that keeps the character you actually drew consistent from the first frame to the last. It works across four visual styles: flat 2D, cinematic 3D, anime, and storybook, so the look of your short matches the story you want to tell.
It is built for independent creators — illustrators, comic makers, tabletop roleplayers, educators, and storytellers who have characters in mind but no animation pipeline. Start free with a single character and a fourteen-second short, then graduate to the Studio plan for multi-character, multi-shot stories with your own music, sound effects, and microphone-recorded voice-overs. Every second of finished animation is metered through render credits, so you only pay for what you actually produce.
Flickerbox is made by a small studio that believes animation should be as approachable as writing. We design the storyboarding, rendering, and audio tools so that the hard parts — keeping a character on-model, timing a shot, layering sound — happen automatically, leaving you free to direct. We are constantly tuning the motion rules, the credit pricing, and the template gallery so the barrier between an idea and a finished short stays as low as we can make it.
